Welcome to Year 5’s Class Page!
This term our topic is ‘Space: Earth and Beyond’. Through our Science lessons ,we will be learning about the Earth and the other planets and the movement of the moon. The children will be able to use the idea of the Earth’s rotation to explain day and night.
For homework the children were asked to make a shoe box model solar system. Take a look at some of the fabulous examples below…
To begin our topic, we made origami stars for our display. Some of us found it quite tricky!
Homework and PE days
This term, we have swimming on a Monday and PE on a Tuesday. Please make sure your child brings correct kit into school on these days.
Homework will be given out on Mondays and is due in on Thursdays. This includes spelling work, grammar and punctuation practice, maths exercises and reading comprehension. As well as this, the children may be given projects to complete relating to our topic.
It is expected that your child reads at home to an adult at least three times a week and it is really important that their diary is signed to say this has happened. We thank you for your continued support.
